Planning a wedding in Los Angeles can be interesting. Because the city is so spread out, you really want to have the ceremony and reception in close proximity to one another, if not in the same place. Otherwise, people will get lost and may miss one or both events entirely. You also want to help your guests take advantage of all that L.A. has to offer, so that it becomes a mini-vacation for them. With these things in mind, here is what we did.

First of all, we decided we wanted to get married near the water. Never mind that we live near Hollywood, which is not exactly on the beach. We looked at sites around Hollywood, but they seemed so..well, gaudy. We thought about the Hyatt on Sunset, but getting married atop a hotel while strangers sunned themselves a few feet away just didn't do it for us. So we decided it would be worth it to drive across town. Once we decided that, the rest was easy. Well, easier. In the meantime, our final choices for goods and services are listed under the resources tab.
